The baby shower last night was for Katie, my partner in crime.
Her nursery is decorated around the book The Giving Tree, so with that our baby shower theme was born.
I kept it simple. Katie can see right through me and I knew she would not be happy if I went all out.
Did I mention she didn't want a baby shower in the first place?
It's not her first baby, but I am a firm believer that every baby is celebrated.
So there.
Here's the table decor. Don't forget to notice those shiny floors! It was a miracle they were done in time.
These were favors for the guests. The apple theme continued with an apple treat inside.
I found a recipe that was basically sticky popcorn, minus the popcorn. You use dehydrated apples and almonds instead.
Much healthier.
Except for the butter, corn syrup, and sugar.
Can we count the cinnamon as healthy?
Maybe not.
It was a lovely shower.
The last guest left my house past midnight.
I have such lovely friends here. My favorite part of the night was when two dear friends pulled me aside and had a bang intervention with me.
You must bring back the bangs they said.
You see, as soon as I cut bangs I started growing them back out. Way too much work I thought.
But I need them. They help shape my face and help take the focus off my overly thin hair.
So as of this morning the bangs are back.
I love a good friend that will tell you how it is. Though it would be better if they focused their interventions on my home remodeling habits instead. Perhaps we should have an intervention party that involves good friends and food that continues past midnight. My girlfriends can help me rearrange some furniture while they are here. :)
It was a great shower for the part that I was there. You are amazing! That apple treat was delicious by the way...
ReplyDeleteUm so I know that we haven't met but I've been blog stalking for a while now. ( I found you off of oneshetwoshe.com) Anyhow. As a former fellow thin haired person..notice I said former. I have tried something, something I found off of osts.com also to help my hair grow more. I'll try and get you the link but basically it boils down to cut sulfates out of your shampoos and cut silicones out of your conditioners, hair sprays, gels, etc. Seriously. A lot of people have noticed the change in my hair and I'm loving it!! I'll come back with the link. Fun blog btw! :)
ReplyDeleteokay, here's the link. It's also on osts.com listed under no-poo your hair.

I tried the no shampoo thing, and it was NOT for me! So, I did the sulfate free shampoo with the no silicone conditioner and it's done wonders! Try it!! I get Organix from WMart as well as the cheapo
v05 conditioner and it's simple. :)
Awesome Julie! Thanks for the tip, I am totally going to try it!
ReplyDeleteThis post made me cry, I couldn't comment before I talked to you.
ReplyDeleteThank you thank you. You are such a fantastic friend.
Glad the bangs are back.
