Google Reader

Whenever I scan my Google Reader and see something I love I bookmark it with a star so I can refer back to it later.

You know, when you see ideas you love and want to copy?

Admit it, you all do it.

Sometimes when I am on my phone I will star a great bargain from Hip 2 Save that I want to remember when I get home to my computer.

I stared this printable coupon from Old Navy way back in October:

I printed the coupon, used it, and then removed the star.

Here's where it get's weird.

The star won't go away.

Crazy right?

It doesn't matter how many times I click remove, I can't get this post off of my Google Reader.

Honestly, it doesn't really bother me as it sits at the bottom of a very long favorites list.

Here's the creepy part though...

A few days ago I was running errands in Provo and saw this woman I thought I recognized.

I walked right up to her and said hello.

And then looked at her quizzically as I tried to remember how I new her.

And I stared.

And awkwardly smiled.

And then finally walked away.

And then it hit me!

She was wearing the COAT from the stupid post that won't leave my Google Reader!

Red plaid lined hood and all.

I stalked someone wearing the coat from the very post that had been stalking me.

DUN DUN DUNNN!

So if anyone out there works for Google please fix this. Psychologically I can no longer handle running into people wearing the very items of clothing that are following me in the blogospehere.

And please allow me to view private blogs in my Google Reader while your at it.

Seriously!

  1. strange! i don't know how to fix it but i say just forget the whole starring system altogether! i used to star and it always annoyed me that i couldn't categorize my stars so i had to sift through all my favorites to find the one. i just got introduced to the site pinterest.com and i'm officially obsessed! such a great way to bookmark sites and keep em organized! check it out.
