Evey's Journal

Evey has a homework journal from school. Every night she is required to write two sentences about her day. Here's a small sample of what my sweet six year old has written thus far:

I have a sticker book. It is fun.

I lost my first tooth. It was fun.

I got new glasses today. It was fun.

I played at my friends house. It was fun.

I spoke with Evey this evening on the importance of expansion. I then encouraged her to branch out with her second sentence requirement, and try to be a little more creative.

Here's what she wrote in her journal tonight:

I shot my dad with a Nerf gun. It was funny.

At least I tried.

Here's how I feel about making this six year old write every single evening:

I don't like helping with homework. It's not fun.

  1. She and Davy's journal are very similar. They must both be 6...

  2. I think your blog is my favorite blog in the universe. I skipped over reading someone's post titled "Backyard Bliss" because other people's bliss can be so annoying, but I always know that your bliss will shine through without you having to tell me.

In Evey language: I like your blog. It is fun(ny).
