Embroidery Hoop Wall Hanging

I have a small collection of vintage embroidery.

They are very pretty, and they smell very old.

You know that smell... kind of a cedar chest slash grandma's hand cream kind of smell?

No worries, I washed them.

Anywho, I wanted to create some sort of display with them so I picked up a stack of embroidery hoops at Hobby Lobby.

With this one I placed a doily inside a hoop, and tightened the hoop screw.

Next I trimmed off the excess, and then used my hot glue gun to seal the thread to prevent fraying.

That's it!

Here's some of my favorites hanging in my studio. The wood hoops sell at Hobby Lobby for around $1.00, and the plastic colored ones are $2.00-$3.00 a piece.

I did make one more with a fun retro pillowcase I found at a yard sale.

I am pretty sure my bedroom growing up had these same colors.

I think I will find a home for this one in Lily's room. It's definitely my favorite!

P.S. Don't ask about the stairs. I am realizing it's going to be a loooong while before I get them done. Which is okay, I have enjoyed spending a little time each day painting. I promise to post about them as soon as they are done!
