First Day of School
Did you have a good Mothers Day today?
Here's the first day of school synopsis from our house...
Taylor:
"Hey Mom, remember how I said I needed you to buy me a violin, and I made you pay for summer music camp so I could learn how to play for my upcoming middle school Orchestra class?"
"Turns out I'm actually in Woodwinds. I now need a clarinet."
Matthew:
"Mom, did you know you were putting me on a bus with a temperature equivalent to Mordor?"
"A drink in my lunch probably would have helped the situation."
Evey:
"At school I didn't want recess to end, so I just stayed and played after the bell. Then I got lost finding my way back to class and the man with the mop had to help me find it."
Did I also mention she left school two hours early and rode home with the early-out kids? She is on the later school track, and just decided she was done for the day.
Does this look like the face of a kid who intentionally skips school?
Don't answer that.
Lily:
Actually, she is still not speaking to me since I refused to let her accompany Matthew on the school bus today.
To be honest, it was a very stressful day.
I am, however, feeling very optimistic and relaxed.
(That could be the highly caffeinated ibuprofen talking.)
I am officially calling a do-over.
Happy Mothers Day take two...
Tomorrow.
I love it! You're right. It truly is Mother's day. Until they get home and then the whining, and emotional meltdowns started again. Ughhh.
