Hired!

I have a new job. It's the non-paying volunteering kind.

I was just asked to be a local Cub Scout committee chair person thingy.

I think.

I can't remember the exact title.

Here's the problem. I have three girls, and one handicapped boy whom until a year or two ago probably thought he was a girl.

I don't know scouts.

I must say thought I am very excited. I like planning, and I like being in charge. And I really really really like being in charge.

There is just one problem. It's a big problem too. It's what I have to wear.

YELLOW!

I don't think I have worn yellow since 1997.

I am pastey white, and pastey white and pastel yellow don't mix.

Want to see the uniform?

This is not it.

Not sure I want to try pulling this off either but I do love those shoes.

This is it:

See that girl on the far right? That's gonna be me.

See the girls on the left? I am pretty sure they are making fun of the girl that's gonna be me.

This topic is most definitely to be continued...

P.S. Our Pinewood Derby was last night. We just completed our third year of helping Matthew make a piece of crap car. Best advice for all you future derby procrastinators: Buy your car already made on ebay. You didn't hear that from me.

  1. LOL! That is my exact calling. Adam is the Cubmaster and I am the Cub Committee Chair. I really like it. and you don't have to wear yellow, you can also choose from the other lovely color choice...light tan. Neither of which looks good on anyone, especially us blonds with pale skin. But you only have to wear it once a month. Good luck!!!

  2. That is so funny. The outfit, not the calling. BTW, I think you can totally pull off that first outfit. Maybe that's what Dallin envisioned when he extended the calling!

  4. Ha, ha, ha!! You are going to look smoking in that! Alex is a cub leader right now, he could give you some ideas. He has done some fun things with his group. Can't wait to see pics of you in your get-up. Did you ever see "Camp Beverly Hills"? I am sure you'll be able to fix your outfit like they did!

  5. Yes, please, for you wearing the full outfit on the right, including the stiff polyester gouchos. And then pictures.
