My boy.

So this spring I had to make a tough decision. Matthew has not had a summer off from school since he was two. In fact, even at the age of two he attended school and therapy through the summer. He loves school. Like really, really loves going. But feelings of us both needing a break kept lingering in my mind and I made the decision to not send him this summer.
We are now entering the second week of summer break and I am so glad I made the decision to keep him home. The ability to go as we please and not be over scheduled has definitely been the right one for him and the whole family. I am sure we will have moments where I will second guess myself. Heck, I had them all last summer when I did choose to send him. But overall, he seems content to spend at least one summer as any other boy would.

P.S. This boy very much loves dancing to his ipod.

  3. Such a small world! I don't know you, but I found your blog a while back when I was reading "or so she says". I am a teacher at the school your son attended this year. He came to my class for rotations. He is a great kid and I am glad I got to know him this year.
