New treasures!

Just a few new things around the house...

First, the architect desk is out of the living room. Oil painting in a family living space does not jive. You learn as you live right? It's now out in the studio. I have been slowly converting some of the studio space for crafting and painting. Future post on that topic coming soon. Maybe.

Here's the living room corner where the desk had been living:

I found this letterpress tray at Euro Treasures in Salt Lake. FABULOUS antique store. After all the antique shopping I did while living in Maine, I have never come across an antique store this vast. They have everything!

What was even more exciting was to find the old antique metal letters that use to fill the trays. I bought one of every letter they had, and hope to find more in the future.

Another new treasure is this old pencil sharpener in the kitchen.

Perfect for sharpening homework pencils!

And finally, Mr. Wright hung a shelf for me in the kitchen to store some of my treasures.

We used an old piece of barnwood for the shelf, and I spray painted Ikea shelf brackets that were silver with Oil Rubbed Bronze spray paint by Rustoleum.

The shelf is long and hangs over the back doors. The vintage jars are actually not so vintage. Old clear mason jars are very hard to find. I bought new clear jars, and just used vintage lids that I bought off of ebay.

  1. Where did you find the pencil sharpener? Those are the best and I totally need one. My "new" electric one only lasted so long and then started sharpening weird. Sometimes the oldies are the best...
