I also just finished re-staining my downstairs bathroom cabinets and OH MY it looks so good! I'm going to be posting that soon as well.
So here's how I organized my sunglasses and accessories in the MB closet:
First, I am a sucker for knock off sunglasses and they were sadly living in a ziplock bag.
The first thing I did was picked up a cheap 8x10 frame at a local thrift store and painted it black.
Then I grabbed my stable gun and some leftover picture hanging wire. If you don't have a heavy duty stapler a glue gun would also work.
I stapled two 10 inch pieces of wire to the frame. One at the top, and one at the middle. If you use got glue, use a generous amount.
It should look something like this. Pull the wire as tights as you can. If it's a little loose no worries.
Next hang up your sunglasses!
A larger frame will obviously hold more sunglasses.
Project #2: Getting my jewelery organized. Another thrift store frame painted black, and covered with thin batting and fabric. I then screwed in these little hooks I picked up at Target. These are sold just about everywhere and come in several different finishes. They have gold, sliver, white, and a really fun dark bronze color. All different sizes too.
Next hang jewelry!
I spread out my jewelry first to get and idea of how I wanted to stagger my hooks. Mine are about three inches apart.
For project #3 I purchased some cardboard photo boxes at Ikea and took pictures off all of my shoes I wanted in storage. Some boxes have multiple pairs so I photographed the shoes together.
And for my fourth project I organized all my clothes by color. I had them organized seasonally but I sometimes wear long sleeves on a summer evening, and summer t-shirts when I spend the day cleaning the house in the winter. This works for me- obviously everyone has to figure out what works for them.
Here's a peak at how things are looking so far!
Now on to the other half of the closet. Scary, Just plain scary.
Wait! Don't leave with that image in your head!
Ahhhh. Much better.
The jewelry one is SO my fav - love it!
