My neighbors directly across the street are moving.

We had waited five years to have someone live across the street that meets the following criteria:

1. Speaks English

2. Falls under the category "Single Family Home"

3. Has children that are the nice type of nice children, the same ages as my kids type of children, and don't come over and ring the doorbell all day long type of children.

4. Have a husband who will come over at will to help move furniture and assist in repairs without me having to bake a thank you afterwards.

5. Will lend me anything recipe related that I need and not care that I take several months to return borrowed items, if they are returned at all.

We received such a family less than a year ago and now they are moving along to bigger and better things.

I am beside myself with sadness.

The only glimmer of hope is the home owner has called and asked if he can bring us a house key. He is going to be out of town and was hoping we would be willing to show it if an eager renter comes along.

I am beside myself with joy.

My life long dream of part time real estate has come to fruition! I fully intend to take over any willing family armed with a clip board, wearing a sports coat, and making big whooshing gestures with both my arms.

This also will allow me to screen my new neighbors for the above criteria and make an executive decision as to whom will be now living across the street. Blessings galore; you really can choose your neighbors!

By the way, if the inquiring family does not meet said standards I will simply be informing them I live in a neighborhood full of crack whores and delinquents.

Very, very busy here. Like insane Christmas rush busy.

Getting calls from my good friend Michelle saying, "Can you watch our kids tonight, your husband is making us come in and meet with him at church."

And then hearing her laugh hysterically because she is kidding but knows this actually happens and thinks it's hilarious.

And I laugh too cause when people do this I need a good laugh folks.

Oh, here's another good one.

A darling tween came in my studio and said, "Why is this place called Middle Gray?"

And I answer, Well, it's a photography term. It basically means equal light.

And then she says, Oh. I though maybe you put front, middle, and back in a hat and that's what you got.

Love it.

What else is new?

Taylor won Reflections and now goes to the intermediate level. Okay I know this is so terrible to say, but I am getting soooo tired of Reflections award ceremonies. They need to be completely overhauled with less talking and more awardsing.

Yes, that's a word.

I rented Julia and Julia to watch all by my lonesome tonight and am oh so very excited. Since I need to sit and do nothing so badly I have determined whatever calories I consume during said movie are irrelevant to my mental health.

And our sweet Lily? Lily is mean.

Very, very mean and grumpy and ornery.

I am terrified.

It's like living with a nine month pregnant kidney stone passing sleep deprived overly exhausted overweight flat haired monster.

Which is what I was eighteen months ago so I know it's difficult to live with.

The only possible light at then end of the tunnel is three itty bitty randomly placed sharp teeth glimmering at me like Quasimodo on a very bad day.

Pray for my sanity.

So I had this really great idea of posting pictures of the studio as we build and work and prepare.

That didn't happen.

Instead we put all efforts and spare time into just working and to be honest I am so so very tired and worn out.

Here's the oh so worth it news... it's almost done!

Some more decorating to do and a few more last minute fixes and such, but it's good for shooting and I am oh so very happy!

Dallan finished installing the door this very evening and at eleven o'clock said, let's take some pictures.

Problem is the only person to shoot that is still awake is us and we are so very worn out but I just know you are dying at a little peak so hear goes...

And with a little tweaking from photoshop, ya know if you like that kind of thing.

Now just imagine the potential if one was not physically exhausted.

Anywho, I have shoots scheduled to start this Saturday so I am off to get some sleep and some final touches done tomorrow.

I have so much more to share but you will have to wait to see the whole thing until the open house, whenever that is.
Unless you just can't wait then you better come over and have your picture taken. :)

I downloaded all the video and pictures from our Power Shot.

Apparently I have been neglecting this camera as we had over 300 images from the past four months living somewhere inside.

I don't feel so bad since about 250 were taken by this child:

The majority of which are blurry toes and Go Diego.

Here's a little peek at my favorite video found amidst all those pictures.

I think I will title it: Why is the mom always the last to eat? or So much for a peaceful dinner.

I am so thankful for my family and the opportunity to spend time with them this holiday!

Oh, and I am thankful Dallan and the kids no longer have the worst flu ever.

And that my family doesn't hate me for spreading it all to them.

And making them violently sick for days.

And that they are still speaking to me.

Taylor won Reflections again. We are so proud! She has also finished reading all fifteen books she received for her birthday. Twice.

Matthew can sing every song from Glee word for word. He also steals my phone to play video games so chances are he will answer if you call. Due to the fact he will put the phone down and walk away and allow you to listen in on our daily family conversions, I would appreciate it if you would directly hang up. Especially if you hear any yelling, threatening, swearing, or otherwise necessary parental control.

Evey, as any preschooler would, asks for toy after toy each time we go to the store. For the past six months I have encouraged her to "put it on her Christmas list" as to avoid a tantrum so I don't have to buy her crap every time we shop. Miraculously she seems to have remembered every single item on that intangible list and is now in the process of trying to cash in for Christmas. Pick one doesn't seem to be a part of her vocabulary.

Lily says Hi and waves. So cute. She also insists on wearing her silver flats everyday which is also so very cute.

I just received $500 in the mail for some La Victoria salsa contest I forgot about entering months ago. Sweet! I have spent the last forty-eight hours jumping up and down and rubbing it in Dallan's face. Black Friday here I come!

As for Dallan he is daily conversing via e-mail with a scammer from Craigslist. They seem to have developed quite a friendship. (Not.) Perhaps with your appeals you can convince him to let me post their conversations here. :)

And my response, Yeah, that's just her face.

And it is so very true!

95% of the day this is the face I look at. I don't know what future orthadonic crisis this face is foreshadowing, but oh, how I love it now!

What we've been up to...

Busy around here.

I am workin' on something super fun and big and overwhelming and so cool but don't even have time to tel ya about it. Perhaps tomorrow? Here's what the kiddos have been up to this week:

Taylor: Piano, piano, piano.

Matthew: Stealing my phone to play Toki Tori. Not a problem unless someone tries calling me on my phone.

If he happens to answer when you call please tell him firmly to get his mother. Otherwise you will have to opportunity to listen in to our daily lives via speaker phone for several hours before we discover he answered your call. Not good.

Evey: Flu, cough, cold, a.k.a. super duper crankiness.

Lily: She has finally figured out how to come down the stairs, and the removal of all stair gates in our home has equaled divine freedom. She often disappears to be found in an upstairs bathroom unraveling toilet paper or sucking on multiple toothbrushes.

Did you have so much fun trick-or-treating?

We tried something new this year.

Dad went out with the children and Mom stayed home to answer the door.

It was quite lovely.

I sipped hot wassail and sewed to my hearts delight.

Did you know hot wassail is served at the Wright house to all parents of trick-or-treaters?

Totally worth coming over.

Back to the kiddos.

They have decided dad is much more fun trick-treating. Instead of canvasing twenty minutes like Mom, Dad takes you out for two hours.

Score.

Craigo's in Utah!

Those of you who have ever been to Rexburg Idaho most likely have experienced the fab food of the infamous pizza hub called Craigo's. Well do I have news for you! The owners have opened an identical chain in Provo called Pizza Pie Cafe. Dallan and I had the privilege of dining with the owners and staff during their soft opening last week, and now that the open is official you have to check it out!
How does it compare to the original you ask? So. Much. Better. I don't know how they did it but the pizza, pasta, and desserts are spectacular and so much better than the original in Idaho.
A million dollar building renovation, (flat screen playing ESPN in the men's room included), Provo Temple view in the distance, plentiful seating, and a squeaky clean atmosphere are all part of the many perks at this place.
